Hyperloop // Monday meeting

We met at 1pm today with some of our logo ideas.

Here is what I've done so far:

To start, I started with brain storming associations of Hyperloop, working with the key elements of the brand. This has helped to make things a lot clearer, so creating imagery will come easier based on these associations.
I asked myself - what comes to mind when I think of cheap, or fast? What would best convey this within a brand on a simplified level?

I then worked from these associations and sketched whatever came to mind. We're trying to create something that clearly conveys the new technology: it cannot be reminiscent of trains or planes.
I have tried a lot to use the letter 'H' in a creative way, such as the idea of connection or tubes.

What hasn't really worked for me though is using the whole word as some sort of logo - I prefer the idea of a simple image that could be used without the whole name.

I tried sketching a line that is similar to the route from LA to San Francisco - how could this be incorporated into a logo? It may be a little difficult, but it lends itself to the idea of location rather than the transport.

I tried out a few different typefaces - the top one, Embossy, is a favourite of mine and it quite technical - but a little too complex for a logo, it is too stylised.

Using lines as a form of a connection, I made a few simple images that are simply a line and two connecting dots - fast, efficient and simple travel.

I have experimented with using a city skyline - Hyperloop is connecting major cities.

At this meeting we talked through logo ideas a little bit and commented on each others. We also did some research between us and decided to spend more time on each of our varied ideas and meet again tomorrow.
